Piano Requirements

Age: PreK-12 Grade (over 18yrs please see Hobbyist Requirements)

2 copies of music must be present for the Division 3, 4 and 5 (one for the judge, one for the performers).
Vocal Entry Requirements

Age: 7th-12th grade

Audition Day: Saturday AM

Musical Theatre Selections will also be allowed.

Repertoire written with accompaniment must be performed with an accompanist. Teachers may accompany their students. Recordings will not be permitted.
Instrumental Entry Requirements

Audition Day: Friday after 3:00pm

Hobbyist Entry Requirements (formerly known as Adult)

Age: 18 years or older, non-collegiate adult

Audition Day: Friday or Saturday

Memory is optional for this entry - please bring 2 non-photocopied copies of music if the entrant is playing with the music.
Ratings
“100” - The student’s performance is at an exceptional level in every musical detail.
“98-99” - The student’s performance is at a superior level, well prepared in most every way.
“96-97” - The student’s performance is at an excellent level, but lack polish in some musical aspect(s).
“92-95” - The student’s performance is at a good to fair level, but lacks fluency or accuracy in notes or rhythm.
Awards
All students will receive a critique sheet and a festival ribbon. Students who score a “100” will also receive $10.00. (This check will be made out to and mailed to the teacher within a week of the event. The teacher is responsible for distributing the money to their student.)
Judges
The judges will be experienced adjudicators who are in good standing with OMTA and MTNA. The judges’ decisions on all ratings will be final.
